Answers to common questions about working with Nava Accountancy, our services, packages, and how we support sole traders, landlords and limited companies across Rossendale and the UK.
What accountancy services does Nava offer?
We provide a full range of accountancy services for individuals, sole traders and limited companies, including annual accounts preparation, personal and corporation tax returns, bookkeeping, VAT returns, payroll, CIS reclaims, property income reporting, Capital Gains Tax reporting, and ongoing advisory and tax planning support.
Where is Nava Accountancy based and who do you work with?
We are based in Rossendale, Lancashire, and support small and medium-sized businesses across the UK. Most of our work is done remotely, so wherever you are in the UK you get the same clear advice and personal service.
How much do your accountancy packages cost?
Our Sole Trader/Individual Complete Package starts from £225 + VAT, covering accounts, tax returns, CIS, property income and Capital Gains reporting. Limited company packages start from £150/month + VAT for our Start-Up Package, with Scale-Up and Growth packages for businesses that need more involved support. Every quote is tailored after a short discovery call.
Should I be a sole trader or a limited company?
It depends on your profits, plans and appetite for admin. Sole traders have simpler reporting and fewer filing obligations, while limited companies can be more tax-efficient at higher profit levels and offer limited liability protection. We will talk through your circumstances and recommend the structure that genuinely suits you, not just the one that sounds clever.
What is Making Tax Digital (MTD) and does it affect me?
Making Tax Digital is HMRC’s programme requiring businesses to keep digital records and file returns using compatible software. It already applies to VAT-registered businesses, and is being extended to Income Tax for sole traders and landlords over the coming years. We make sure your systems are MTD-ready so there are no surprises or penalties.
Can you help me switch from my current accountant?
Yes, switching is simpler than most people think. Once you give us the go-ahead, we contact your previous accountant directly to arrange professional clearance and the handover of your records. There is no awkward conversation for you to have, and we make sure nothing is missed in the transition.
Do I need to live near Rossendale to work with you?
No. While we have strong local roots in Rossendale and Lancashire, we work with clients right across the UK using cloud accounting software, video calls and email. You get direct access to our team whenever you need it.
What accounting software do you work with?
We work with the main cloud accounting platforms and will recommend the right fit for your business. If you are already using software, we can usually work with it; if not, we will get you set up with simple systems that keep you compliant and give you a clear view of your numbers.
When are the key tax deadlines I need to know about?
For sole traders and individuals, the Self Assessment deadline is 31 January each year for online filing. Limited companies must file accounts with Companies House nine months after their year end, and corporation tax returns within 12 months. VAT and payroll deadlines depend on your registration and scheme. As a client, we track all of these for you and remind you well in advance.
Do you work with landlords and property investors?
Yes. Property and investment is one of our core service areas. We handle property income reporting, Capital Gains Tax on property disposals, and advise on the most tax-efficient way to hold and grow your property portfolio, whether you have one buy-to-let or several.
How do I get started with Nava?
Simply get in touch through our contact page to book a short discovery call. We will talk through your circumstances, explain exactly what you need (and what you do not), and provide a tailored quote. There is no obligation and no jargon.
